Turn player choices into meaningful consequences.
Every choice changes the story.

How to turn player choices into memorable consequences
A good consequence feels inevitable in hindsight. It follows from what happened, who noticed, and what they can actually do about it.
01
Coherence over punishment
Consequences should match the action, not just tax the players. A spared enemy can become a debt, a rumor, or an unexpected ally.
02
People react to what they know
NPCs and factions only respond to what they witnessed, deduced, or were told. Hidden deeds stay hidden until someone finds a thread.
03
Leave doors open
A consequence can create a job, a bargain, a sanctuary, or a new route through the world — not only a cost.
04
Let the future arrive
Something that ripples into next session, or a season later, makes the setting feel alive instead of reset between games.
Built for the decisions that reshape a campaign
When the table leaves the prepared path, a game master can turn that choice into narrative consequences — then follow the ripples on a chronicle map.
01
When players go off-script
The party spares an enemy, burns a bridge, or strikes a bargain you did not prepare. Describe the choice and receive immediate, next-session, and long-term consequences you can take to the table.
02
NPCs and factions that remember
Courts, crews, and temples notice what they can actually see. PlotRipple sketches who would care, what they might do next, and how that pressure lands — without locking you into a script.
03
Ripples that return later
Some consequences belong in the next scene. Others should wait a session or a season. Mixed results give you threads to pick up when the campaign is ready for them.
04
See the branches, then expand them
After a generation, open the Chronicle Map. Follow a ripple, expand a branch, and keep the story’s forks in view — stored on this device, ready for the next session.
Frequently asked questions
What is an RPG consequence generator?
An RPG consequence generator helps a tabletop RPG game master turn a player decision into structured narrative consequences. In PlotRipple, you describe what happened at the table and receive outcomes for the next scene, the next session, and the longer campaign.
Does PlotRipple work with D&D and other RPG systems?
Yes. PlotRipple is system-agnostic. Game masters use it with Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and other tabletop RPGs. It does not include or reproduce proprietary rules, monsters, or setting text from those games.
Are generated chronicles saved?
Chronicles stay on this device. There is no account and nothing syncs to the cloud. When you generate consequences or explore a ripple, the narrative context is sent to our AI provider. Privacy explains what leaves the browser.
Is PlotRipple free?
Yes. PlotRipple is free, within a shared daily limit for generation and expansion. There is no subscription.
Does PlotRipple replace the game master?
No. PlotRipple offers starting points. The game master still decides what enters the campaign, what NPCs actually do, and what the table plays.
